My Project

School: HCS, Los Angeles

Grade Level: 4th Grade

Project Goal: Provide three new Chromebooks to support learning, accessibility, and collaboration.

Our kiddos are a bright, kind, and hardworking group of 36 fourth graders. Our school embraces a motto of "It's Cool to Be Kind." Our students are eager to learn and always willing to help each other, even when it means sharing limited resources. Many students have IEPs, special learning needs, and are English Language Learners, and having access to technology helps them engage with learning in ways that best support their needs.

The Need

Our classroom depends on laptops for typing essays, coding, research, and other essential learning activities. Unfortunately, many of our devices are no longer functional—broken keyboards, cracked screens, and faulty batteries make it difficult for students to work efficiently. Because of this, they must share, slowing down their progress and limiting their opportunities to practice essential digital skills.

How This Project Will Help

By providing three new Chromebooks, this project will:

Ensure students have consistent access to technology, especially those with learning accommodations.

Allow students to work independently on research, writing, and coding.

Help them develop essential 21st-century skills like typing, problem-solving, and collaboration.

What We Need

We are requesting three ASUS 14" FHD laptops to replace our broken devices. These laptops will give more students access to learning tools and help them fully participate in digital activities.
