Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items listed will make a significant impact on my students learning. I teach a learning center with students who have learning disabilities and need certain accommodations to succeed in their classes. Most of their accommodations come from their laptops, they are able to have passages read to them or used speech to text. With the help of these laptops, students will be able to build on their foundational skills and complete work assignments from their classes in the lab.

Students with IEPs deserve the best that we can offer them so that they can succeed, and with the help of these laptops we can make this happen.

The stand-up desk will help students change seats if needed, sitting down for too long is sometimes difficult for my students. The stand-up desk will give them an option to stand and still be able to do work. For whatever the reason, if the students forget their computers at home or if they are damaged and don't have the money to replace it, these computers will be available to them in the classroom. With your generous donations, my students will always have access to their accommodations online, whether it's to help them listen to a passage or use speech to text to complete a writing assignment.
