Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have the best job in the world! I teach 18 fun kindergarten students in a high need community. My school is a Title I school where most of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Almost half of our students are English language learners. Despite our needs, I hold high expectations for all of my students.

With proration at hand, budget cuts, and the possibility of no extra funds next year for supplies, teachers will be spending a lot of their own money to have materials. We would be so thankful to receive some write and wipe lap boards that we can use anywhere in our classroom. We like to use dry erase boards at the rug during whole group math and literacy time, in small groups, and during centers at our tables or around the room. These boards are dry erase boards that can easily be used to practice letter formation, number formation, sounding out words, and beginning writing skills.

That is where you come in! My students love to use dry erase markers and boards, but our old boards are tiny, scratched, stained, and just plain worn out. My students would love to have some large new boards that would give us practice on our alphabet and writing skills. We are requesting a class set of new write and wipe lap boards.

I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read our proposal. Our classroom has been very blessed through donors choose and it is because of people like you. My students are better served through this wonderful organization.
