My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher who teaches 26 curious, enthusiastic students. My students represent a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My school gets very little funding from the district, and almost everything for our classroom is funded by kind parents, generous donors, and myself.

The excitement that lights my students’ faces when they learn something new is a constant inspiration for my teaching.

My students enjoy interactive experiences, and their participation strengthens their learning. We are in distance learning, which makes it much more challenging to engage kindergartners. It is my goal to engage and excite them to learn, both virtually and when we return for hybrid learning.

My Project

The laptop will enable me to host our Zoom meetings with a working camera and microphone, which is essential when trying to maintain five-year-olds' attention in virtual learning. It will also be used to project brain break videos and workouts, as well as host our virtual pen-pal sessions when we are back in the classroom.

The laptop, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, and the game packs will be used in my classroom for many years to come.

The gift cards will allow me to purchase curricular materials from other teachers in order to provide my students with creative and interactive learning experiences. On this site, there are lessons in all areas of the curriculum, including math, language arts, science, art, and social studies. Some of the resources will be uploaded into our Seesaw account, some with will be shared directly with my students and their families, and some will be printed and stapled together to make packets for the students to use at home and in the classroom when we return. These activities and resources are perfect for our soon-to-be hybrid learning situation.

Since we are unable to share equipment in our hybrid learning model, I am going to make individual activity packs for each of my students. They will have a jump rope, magic scarf, stretchy rope, and beads. There will be other materials that I have already purchased in them as well.
