My Project

Our robotics students are in dire need of a technology upgrade. My students use an outdated laptop with limited memory to program their competition robot. For the past three robotic seasons, we have had to back up our program to a flash drive to free up space to allow the new program to load onto the laptop. Unfortunately, this process has become frustrating and causes the team to lose precious time and rewrite portions of their program.

A new laptop with adequate storage would allow the team to save their robot's program after the season ends.

In addition, keeping a previous season's robot code will enable the team to showcase their robot for school and community events. Finally, the laptop will serve a multi-use purpose for the students. Students will use the technology to modify their CAD drawings using 3D modeling software like SolidWorks, create and update their team website, and use graphic design software and digital media programs.
