Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am teaching 32 eager students who have a passion for learning. I am always surprised to see how much knowledge the students bring to each subject. This year, I will focus more on reciprocal learning strategies which will help the students gain more control over their learning. By developing groups and questioning techniques for the students to follow, they will be able to lead their own discussions and make their own discoveries in every subject. I am always confident in my students' abilities to take their learning to a higher level of independence.

Every fifth grader brings with them a special quality that enhances our classroom in different ways.

It is amazing to watch the children learn new and interesting ideas. Once the light bulb goes off, their faces light up and then understanding the concept becomes easier. It is amazing to watch them light up with excitement over learning.

My Project

This laptop is a vital part of the classroom. Our students are accustomed to visual aids. The entire curriculum is shown to them on our smart boards. The laptop and the smart boards take education to another level. Students are exposed to videos that support the concept of the lesson. In addition, the power points give instruction and direction for the day's lesson plan. Students are able to demonstrate activities through the various programs on the internet. . My classroom cannot run as smoothly without technology. It brings forth imagination as well as information. Students no longer have to imagine what something looks like any more because of the use of technology.
