The children in my class are 3-5 years old and approximately half of them are receiving special education services. As such we have a wide range of abilities, interests, and needs. I strive to keep our classroom environment one of exploration, kindness, and fun.
My students learn through play and hands-on active learning experiences.
Our class includes children who are expanding their speech and language, independence, social, problem solving, cognitive skills, and so much more!
My Project
Many of our preschoolers are struggling with their expressive language. To increase this skill we will use big books with the whole class. In this way they will interact with the story/book and each other. We will work to build vocabulary so that they can retell the story and point things out in pictures.
By donating to this project preschool children who only remember times during this pandemic will receive opportunities to play and work with other children.
The floor puzzles will provide chances to work together to solve a problem and the play food will provide additional social opportunities within our classroom to cook together or for each other.
