Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am now in month two of my new position as an ESL teacher, and I have been loving it! I love the eagerness that my students have to learn and grow and how they are already making connections with the support and resources I've been providing them with.

What I find is that there a few more things I could have to make their experience with me even more meaningful.

Bilingual and picture books have been a major key to language development for my students who are already reading or desire to read more. I have a few newcomers (immigrant students) that I know will benefit from these. The light switches and batteries will be used during read-aloud testing so that there is an easy and less-distracting way for students to let me know that I need to reread a question or help them in any way. I'm sure as the school year continues I will know what other things we'll need, but for now, this will do.
