I am a Speech Pathologist working in a high needs school district. A majority of the students come from low socioeconomic homes which can greatly impact their daily lives. Considering their backgrounds, these students are always willing to learn and try new things in order to grow and better themselves. They inspire me to do better and it is essential that they have materials in order to succeed. My students would benefit from a variety of basic toys and games that can be used in a way to facilitate their individual needs. These students would be ecstatic to enter the classroom and find new ways to work on their communication skills.
My Project
This project will help my students with their language learning and also be exciting and engaging. The photo cards will be used in order to encourage the expansion of language. My students will learn actions, opposites and categories all of which are important fundamentals in the foundation of language.
The materials in this project are visual in order to assist all student learning needs.
The timer will aid in helping students prepare for each task as they can watch how much time they have left for their current task, easing transitions. The category sorting box will help develop the use of categories. Students will learn to organize their language and form relationships of words.
Your donation to my project will be greatly appreciated. They love when I am able to present new and exciting materials and games. Thank you!
