This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Here’s a revised version tailored to 6th grade and limited to 250 words:

My 6th-grade students are curious, creative, and eager to learn.

They are a diverse group of learners with unique talents and interests, making our classroom a dynamic place for exploration. To enhance their learning, I am implementing a STEM-focused language program that combines Spanish with hands-on problem-solving. This approach connects language learning to real-world applications, helping students see Spanish as a tool for innovation.

The snacks I’m requesting—chips, chocolate, and candy—will play an important role in motivating my students. These small treats will serve as rewards for participation, collaboration, and successfully completing STEM-based Spanish projects. For example, during a challenge where students build and explain a model entirely in Spanish, these snacks will provide an extra incentive to stay engaged and work together.

My goal for this project is to inspire students to see language as more than just words—it’s a bridge to solving problems and thinking creatively. By combining STEM and Spanish, I aim to give my students skills that prepare them for a global future.

What makes my students special is their enthusiasm and determination. Many are already multilingual or come from diverse backgrounds, which enriches our classroom discussions. They have an incredible ability to think outside the box and embrace challenges, and this program will give them a space to shine. With these items, I hope to create an engaging, rewarding environment where they can thrive.
