This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are imaginative and knowledge-hungry. More than three quarters of the students are from low income households. They all have different living conditions. With all that is going on in the world, they look forward to going to school.
My Project
Learning the Engineering Design Process is an accomplishment that motivates students in critical thinking. The five step process can be intimidating to students at first, but when they are interested in the topic it is a wonderful learning experience.
Connecting historical figures to this process is a great way to motivate students.
Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create and Improve. These steps can be seen in the work of many inventors. I would like to give my students the opportunity of looking into Leonardo DaVinci's land and air models. The goal is to teach our students how to persevere through their creations.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
