Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at LAMS are lifelong learners and Global change-makers. They are curious, inquisitive, diverse, and creative. They never stop believing in themselves or their potential to make their mark on our world. At LAMS, we believe that respect, responsibility, and perseverance are important for student success in academics and in life. We also believe that there are certain Habits of Work and Learning that go with each of these traits which can be modeled, taught, and assessed so that students can strengthen those traits. Students regularly self-assess on these habits throughout the school year to become aware of their own progress.

My Project

Our school has diverse learners with unique needs. We seek to transform many spaces in our school to accommodate this diversity. We have transformed two classrooms into a state-of-the-art STEM innovation center to really strengthen and harness the creative confidence of our students. The paint listed will beautify and add color to the space. Many students need a space to express themselves, complete projects, and be challenged and we believe that this center will be equipped with all the tools to do so. The Samsung Chromebooks, Cameras, and Oculus Quests will be great additions to the technology already present in the space. This will allow us to really add the real-life/3d world platform to the curriculum. The Samsung signage screens will be one of the most important additions, as we will allow our art/design students to display their projects across the grade.
