Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hands-on, engaging, activities that allow for authentic learning is what my students need!

I teach 28 amazing 2nd graders, who absolutely LOVE to learn.

They love to work collaboratively, with hands-on materials. They love to ask questions, solve problems, and get lost in a good book! Our school is located in a large, urban district in Illinois and our funding is limited. We do not have a laminator at school that I can use to create durable and lasting activities for my classroom.

My Project

Having a laminator will change my life completely! I will be able to create endless unit plans, literacy stations, anchor charts, and I will be able to differentiate appropriately because laminating will finally be affordable! One of my favorite parts about being a teacher is being able to create lessons and activities based on what my students need. No prescribed curriculum can offer the same individualized instruction that I aim to give my students. With a laminator, I can create and produce lasting products that really enhance my students' education.

Fulfilling this grant will be such a blessing to me as an educator.

It will allow me to develop and hone my creative nature into positive results for my students. Programs don't teach students; teachers teach students. With a laminating machine and pouches, I can take all of my ideas and put them into action in more effective (and affordable) way. Your contribution will be not only impacting me as an educator, but my students as learners!
