My Students

With the new school year, brings some new friendly faces! My students are full of love and energy. This year I am teaching in a program in which my students have two teachers in the classroom at all times: a licensed special education teacher (myself) and a licensed speech therapist! My students this year enjoy music, coloring, numbers, puzzles, playdoh, and toys that make noise! They love exploring the different ways to play with toys. They are curious and ready to learn! All of my students are between the ages of 4 and 6.

My wonderful class consists of students with disability diagnoses who receive speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.

We have been learning 5 days a week in-person! We are excited to be in school. My new students are entering school for the first time in over a year (they were remote last year)!

With the students return to school this fall (and hopefully a more consistent opening), I am dedicated to making sure their learning experiences are full of joy and fun.

My Project

As we entered this school year, we realized we needed some tools in order to create materials for our students!

The activities/materials our students need to support to their learning involve a laminator and a binding machine.

Laminating is a staple in teaching. Our students learn through File Folder Activities which involve matching and sorting pieces onto a laminated file folder. We need a laminator in which a file folder can fit as well as laminating pouches that fit over the file folder.

Adapted books (interactive books) are an amazing tool to support our students' learning . To create these, a binding machine is needed so we can bind the book together. We also write many social stories for our students to support their social-emotional skills. It would be great to bind these stories for the students to have their own book! Please help us provide our students the materials they need to help them succeed!
