Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student-athletes are ambitious and dedicated to making the best out of their circumstances. Most of my athletes lack the finances to get the needed supplies and equipment for the sport (i.e. basketball shoes, basketball shorts, duffle bags, warm-ups, socks, etc..) but they never quit or complain about their lack of. The effort displayed by my athletes is heart-warming and I wish I could provide them with the basic essentials to be successful this upcoming basketball season. I am asking for help in getting black large duffle bags, jump ropes, and 10 pair of dribbling glasses. With these items I will be able to give my girls the practice and equipment they need to grow as athletes and individuals this school year!

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my student-athletes learning in various ways. By providing these young ladies with duffle bags to store their basketball equipment it teaches them ownership and responsibility for their possessions. All great players find time to perfect their craft. I will be providing ball handlers with dribbling glasses for them to use on their leisure time to sharpen their skills. This teaches young ladies to take initiative in reaching personal goals. The jump ropes will be given to each young lady on the basketball team and they are to jump rope for at least 10 minutes a day. This makes a difference in my students learning because it encourages a routine of daily exercise; which is good for the mind, body, and soul.
