Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in physical education class is the students come to the outside areas and are dedicating one hour and forty minutes to lifelong physical activity. The class is broken down into a warmup, fitness section, lesson, and objective of the day, application, and modified game. They work collaboratively in groups and teams.

The various sports and activities they play are basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, jump rope, folk dance, and much more!

The students come from lower socioeconomic households and are first generation kids who are learning to work in groups and teams to be successful at the high school and college levels. They aspire to be doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, and community activists!

The lacrosse sticks set will allow the students to play during nutrition, lunch, and more importantly, during their Physical Education class. This sport teaches them a non-traditional sport. The lacrosse equipment will also allow for the physical education classes to offer more options and allow for a hockey enrichment/elective.

My Project

This equipment will show the students a different perspective of what other states or countries' school play where it has open areas. Also, showing them lacrosse will allow for them to want to try to play in high school or even college.

They will be diverse and able to play all different sports and not just the traditional basketball, soccer, football and baseball.

The students can and will have a broader sports background and can share their insights with lacrosse to friends and how it can and will help develop and maintain hand-eye coordination, cardiovascular endurance, and overall physical fitness.
