My Project

Kenwood lacrosse spends $500+ a year on lacrosse balls. The per ball cost is roughly $1.50 and we usually loose the majority of them by the end of the year. This can be explained by the fences that surround our field; they are not wide enough to stop the ball from passing between the posts and balls sometimes slip by into busy Chicago streets. After every single practice, I walk up and down Lake Park Avenue to find balls that went through the fence, but we still inevitably loose some. If we had backstops for our field, Kenwood lacrosse could save money on balls and put that towards more tournaments, games, or team apparel. It would also help us facilitate more lacrosse related events at Kenwood to help give the sport more exposure in the south side of Chicago.
