Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students at our school are eager learners who don't always have the educational tools or experience needed to be as successful as other students their age. These students require additional assistance in learning how to navigate through technology and the world around them. Often our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and Spanish speaking homes. Their parents are unable to provide the academic support that is needed to teach students how to be successful. Our students are struggling to learn how to adapt to an ever-increasing digital world. Our students must be able to understand how to use technology in a variety of ways that will help them keep up with the world we live in today.

My students need label makers to help begin to organize our media center to create a diverse organization of books for students to read.

Our library is lacking in many books especially books that are organized and readily available for kids to read at their level. With a label maker, we can begin the process of organizing our books to show their reading levels, making it easier for students to have access to books that will benefit them academically. Unfortunately, most of our students do not have access to the technology they need in order to be able to keep up. To help get our students there, they must have updated technology readily available.This will help our students move on to the next step of becoming digitally educated citizens!
