Lab Tables for Chemistry and Biology Classroom!

My students need lab tables to use in our chemistry class.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Werling's classroom raised $766

My Students

As recent immigrants to the United States, most of my students have never had access to science equipment. Most of my students have never used a microscope, or had experience in a high school lab setting. I would love to allow my students to experience the joys of science.

Most of my students speak English as a second language.

Many of them have been in the United States for less than 3 years, since they are refugees from Somalia and Ethiopia. We are an alternative school whose goal is to provide equal education to these students. We work primarily with East African and Latino populations. Many of my students are interested in medical professions, so accurate knowledge of science equipment is vitally important to their success in college.

My Project

I am requesting a chemical resistant lab table. The tables we have in my room are old, broken, and not safe for many chemical experiments. I would like to use this table to perform demos, and allow students to work with chemicals that one would normally use in a high school chemistry lab. This is not safe on our old laminate tables, so this lab table would be a great resource for my students.

This is important so that my students can learn the essential reactions that are so important in a chemistry class.

This table could be used to perform chemical reactions, or perform experiments with bacteria in biology, things that would not be safe to do on our old tables. Ideally, I would love to eventually order a whole class set of these tables for my students, but this is a great first step to introduce them to lab equipment and awesome chemical reactions!
