This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help me to provide a Calming Corner for my students to calm down or self-regulate whenever they are overwhelmed, anxious, or frustrated. This school year my students are a very energetic bunch. They are constantly on the move; therefore, they need a classroom environment that accommodates their unique approach to learning.

Students need to know that there is a designated spot in our classroom that is safe and accessible to them at all times.

It should be equipped with sensory materials such as: liquid sensory floor tiles, resistance fidget bands, lounger seats and fidget toys that they can use to take a break, decompress, or think about making different choices. The area needs to be decorated with anchor charts with words of encouragement for my students. We need a laminator to laminate the charts for that area.
