My Project

My students are eager to learn. They ask many questions. Many of the answers they are looking for can be found in books which are informational in nature. Students are more likely to pick up a small age-appropriate book to read than a voluminous textbook.

My goal is to give my students access to literature that they will enjoy while providing them with the academic knowledge that they need.

Giving students options allows them to take ownership of their learning path.

The majority of my students come from a low-economic environment. Having access to books illustrated books that contain informational text on topics of interest and that aligns with the curriculum will increase students' fluency, build background knowledge, increase comprehension.
