Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a charter school in Southern Florida. After a collaboration between a couple of the grade teachers we realized the talent in our school that was not being nurtured. Our students have such a need and eagerness to learn but don't always have the supplies. Our school is located square in the middle of a very dense Caribbean population with many different languages and cultures mixing into our area. I serve my own 4th grade classroom with all my strength. We strive to give every child the chance to come learn, explore and have fun.

My Project

The materials I am requesting is going to allow my students to grow passionate about Reading given them a better understanding. Having an opportunity to explore different book's genres, authors, and themes will help them understand life, circumstances and will give them an opportunity to explore the world around them. Books can also be use as an escape to reality and I know that some of my students need that safe zone where through reading can believe they can succeed. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies and with this material my students will have access to a variety of unknown to them books, authors and themes to expand their learning and experiences. This will help then grow emotionally and academically, always striving for their success!
