Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently teach 44 5th graders. I am departmentalized so I have 2 classes of 22 students. These students are some of the most self- driven students I have ever met. The area that they live in is not so good but they are still able to rise above their circumstances. My students love to learn more and dig deeper in order to gain a better understanding of what is being taught to them. Any opportunity that I have to show and experience new things I take advantage of. They are full of love and laughter. I have have an all inclusive classroom. So I have general education, ESE, and English Language Learners all in the same class.

My Project

The Physical Science labs will allow my students to see science in real world situations. Many of them learn the information but have a hard time applying the content to scenarios. These materials will help my students become independent thinkers as well as providing them with knowledge that will last a life time.

The Math Folder games will give my students an opportunity to have fun while learning.

Majority of my students struggle in mathematics due to being a few grade levels behind. Even though they are always giving their best I would like to reward them by have Game Day Fridays.
