Help me give my students the variety of genres they need to spark their imaginations for their continued love of reading and life long learning with these amazing box sets of fantasy books like The Legend of Zelda!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the feeling as a child when you get a new book? The smell... the smoothness... the crispness of the pages.. the wonder that awaits you....
My students are diverse and unique and just love the power of reading!
They live in an impoverished urban area so school is their main source for books. They do not have access to books at home and we do not have a school library so they rely on the classroom library.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies for our ENL (English as a New Language) students, SWDs (Students with Disabilities) and all our other amazing students! We do group work, student choice, and differentiation strategies to ensure that each student's needs are met.
I hope to give my students what they deserve... the love of reading!
My Project
My students need more books! It's as simple as that! They LOVE books! They love reading and they get excited to learn! I am always teaching new strategies that they can use to lift their level of thinking as readers and my students need the resources to be able to try these strategies.
I have students on all different reading levels, so it would be so phenomenal to have a variety of levels and genres in my depleted classroom libarary!
I would love to see the look on their faces when I present to them all the new and exciting titles I have in our library! I want to engage my students the way they deserve to be engaged! I want to instill in them the love of reading I have and if they had the resources to do that, it would be magical!
