Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Although most of my students come from tough living situations, they still enter the classroom full of hopefulness and loving hearts.They are highly motivated and always eager to learn. My school is located in the south Bronx and has the highest shelter population of students in New York. These curious scholars inspire each other and myself each and every day as they put their challenges aside to persevere and be successful in the classroom. They amaze me each and every day!

My Project

After learning different strategies to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations, my scholars still struggle to have their facts memorized. These games and activities will be available for the scholars to grab and use during lessons. It will help them master fact fluency while having fun. It will be easy to differentiate in the classroom and make math centers better tailored to the scholars’ individual needs. I have printed out and made so many math centers by hand but they are not as fun or as durable. These materials will last throughout the year and years to come for my next class!
