Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I always wanted to learn how to knit and I never learned. As an older adult I finally learned how to knit and it helped me immensely during COVID. Knitting reduces stress and it also stimulates your brain. It will also help my students with fine motor skills as it requires specific hand eye coordination.

After COVID I find that many students do not have an outlet to where they can find peace and relax.

I think it is important for students well being they have a place they can feel relaxed and at peace. I want my students to know the joy in knitting. Students will enjoy making something for themselves or their loved ones, it includes: hats, messy bun hats, newborn bonnet, scarfs, and many more projects.

It will be a calm soothing place with music. It will be a safe place where students can come and not worry about academics or daily problems.

This will also help my students as some studies show that it can also decrease their blood pressure and we can engage in social circles while we knit engaging in positive conversations.
