My Students

Every morning our school shouts out our motto, which describes them as being a leader, responsible, respectful, resourceful, and proud. My students follow this motto in school and in life.

My students come from a city that has been considered one of the most dangerous cities in America.

Despite that, they are creating their own path to a successful future. It amazes me to see how fully engaged they are to learn each and every day. I feel privileged to teach such a great group of kids.

My Project

We are fortunate enough to have an after school program at our school. I would like to start a knitting club. To make this knitting club successful we need looms and yarn to make scarfs, bankets, socks, mittens, and so much more!

Knitting is not only for Grandmas, it is fun and rewarding!

Some students see knitting as something that old people do on their spare time. I want to show students that knitting is fun and they are able to do it too! Once they make their first project, they will be hooked just like I was when I was a kid!
