My Students

We are a diverse community of K-12 learners at 12 sites across Brooklyn. Presently, our school serves over 563 students classified with a range of social, emotional, and cognitive challenges including, but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and cognitive disabilities, and emotional disturbances.

Each student comes to us with unique and often severe challenges that have negatively impacted their ability to succeed in a general education setting.

Just under 90% of our students are Title I eligible, meaning that they are living at or below the poverty line.

My Project

We are working hard to prepare for a return to 'normal,' and in doing so we have begun to construct our school's 'Maker Space.' A Maker Space is exactly what it sounds like - an area where students are encouraged to put concepts into practice; to try out hands-on approaches to ideas that they have only had the opportunity to conceptualize thus far.

Please help develop our Maker Space by allowing us to include these K'Nex kits - they will serve as wonderful tools for prototyping, as well as for understanding important concepts in engineering and physics.

Without your help, this wouldn't be possible and for that we are grateful.
