My Project

I love that my students are curious, eager to learn, and excited about hands-on activities that bring their lessons to life. They thrive when given opportunities to apply their knowledge in realistic, engaging ways. My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the classroom. They are determined to learn skills that will not only help them succeed academically but also prepare them for real-world challenges.

The materials I’m requesting—faux food, knives, cutting boards, pots, pans, paper plates, and more—will help transform our classroom kitchens into interactive “kitchen crime scenes.” Students will step into the role of detectives as they investigate and identify safety and sanitation violations.

These resources will allow them to solve real-life-inspired culinary mysteries, all while learning the importance of proper food handling, cleanliness, and hazard prevention.

My goal is to give my students a dynamic learning experience where they can combine critical thinking with essential kitchen safety skills. By fostering creativity and problem-solving through these crime scene scenarios, this project will prepare them to succeed in future culinary settings and beyond.
