My Students

My students are already passionate about reading, and the Kindle Fire can help them become even more voracious readers! With it's text to speech feature it can also give struggling readers a place to practice their reading skills in a non-threatening and fun way!

I have a wide range of students, with diverse interests and abilities.

Many come from homes where they do not have access to the current technological advances provided in education these days. Technology is an important tool that I want my students to feel comfortable in utilizing, as it plays an ever more important role now and in the future.

My Project

The Kindle Fire is like a handheld library, offering my students hundred of books to enjoy. They can enjoy these books again and again, without the wear and tear of my classroom library! It will be a valuable research source, putting thousands of magazines, newspapers, and books into my student's hands. Moreover, it allows another motivating way to comprehend a story or text -- giving students the chance to develop their cognitive thinking skills while having fun!

I want my students to be prepared for the world that awaits them -- and technology is a huge part of that world.

With the Kindle not only will they be able to maintain their passion for reading but can experience and learn new ways to explore that passion. The opportunities for research, reading, and learning are endless!
