Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love computer time. We get to go the computer lab twice a month for an hour and they look forward to it. They look at the calendar to see if it's our week to go and if it is I get reminded daily that our day is approaching. I just wish they had some kind of technology available daily.

My students are wonderful children.

I wish nothing but the best for them. They are always happy regardless of all the disadvantages they have encountered due to their socioeconomic status. In their everyday life they encounter gangs, graffiti, police helicopters hovering over their houses, and so much more. My class consist of 100% Latino. They all qualify for the free meal program since they are low income families.

My Project

My students would love to use the kindle. I could just see a twinkle in their eyes and their beaming smile. I love it when my students are happy. I want to make learning fun for them since they are only five years old. The kindle will do just that. I can visualize them holding the kindle and reading a story for fun. I want all my students to read for pleasure and the kindle can help me with that. Technology and reading is just a wonderful combination for my kinder students.

The kindle is another form to entice my students to the pleasure of reading.

I also want my students to be comfortable with different types of technology. Their socioeconomic status might deprive them of technology but with your generous donation can provide them with some exposure.
