My Students

Technology is used everywhere. Today's children are faced with an ever changing world of technology. Unfortunately, not all children are able to have access to all types of technology. In order to give each child an opportunity, we need this technology in the schools especially in the classrooms.

I am a kindergarten teacher with 24 enthusiastic students in my class.

About 80 percent of my students are on free or reduced lunch. All of my students are highly motivated to learn no matter what challenges they face at home or in their community. All the parents in my class want the best education for their child and they try to do the best they can.

My Project

My students go to our school's computer lab once a week for 30 minutes. They love going to the computer lab. I just wish they had more time on the computers. Therefore, technology needs to be in the classroom, too. Thanks to people like you and ```, I was able to get one iPad2 funded for my classroom. I can't wait to buy and download many applications and also, get some free applications that are perfect for my kindergarten students. I already know that my students will be begging for a turn. So, I think it would be great if we can get one more iPad2. Then we can have a technology center. The iPad2 will motivate them to learn. They will think they are playing games and solving puzzles but they are actually learning. Most (if not all) of my students have never used an iPad2 before. It is amazing how fast they learn. We can also record them reading and they can record each other. The iPad2 will help my students master the state standards in all academic areas.

I am determined to bring technology into my classroom.

I know my students will love the iPad2. We are anxiously awaiting its arrival. I hope you will support this project so my students will have one more. Then my students will be able to use the iPad2 more often. My students (and future students) and I appreciate your support. Technology makes learning fun! Please support our kinder techies!
