My Project

The products I'm currently requesting are primary journals, a rug for our classes' cozy library corner, an almost retired pencil sharpener, and products to keep germs away. I've already noticed my students loves to draw, color and write. I would like to encourage them to put their thoughts and ideas on paper. The primary journals I'm requesting will do exactly that. It will last the entire school year, and they will be able to see how they have grown from the first page to the last.

Students need an outlet to describe how they are feeling and what they are experiencing in life.

I think having a book just to jot down what they are going through in that moment is so important. Since I'm teaching in a low-income neighborhood where 90% or more of my students are living in shelters-it's very difficult to ask parents to supply the class with facial tissues and disinfecting sprays. I would like for my students to be in school every day, so their learning continues, and they have a successful year.

Having these basic necessities would help them stay healthy and in a safe, educational/social filled environment. These supplies would be great for my students, and we will forever be thankful for any and all contributions to our class.
