Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school in the Bronx is the "lighthouse" of the neighborhood creating bright futures for children in a low income society. My students are eager and excited to start to read and count but need help with having the right materials. Through generous donations each year, my class is able to grow through fun and interactive hands on materials. Many of the students live in temporary housing and have many emotional and economic stresses on their family. School provides them with a sense of stability and an escape from many obstacles they have already faced at an early age. Please help enrich the minds and hearts of these young kids.

My Project

Our class goes through so many everyday items that other schools may take for granted. This project would help ensure that our class has basic supplies such as computer paper, crayons and expo markers.

This project is important because as kindergartners we use crayons everyday to color in counters for math, pictures for phonics, and pictures to match our writing.

We also use expo markers everday on dry erase boards for games, centers and handwriting practice. These basic supplies are not fulfilled by parents or the school due to lack of funds. Your donation would greatly help fulfill this lack of basic supplies.
