Kindergartners Need Clipboards and Mailboxes for Learning!

My students need clipboards so that they can focus during the lesson as they use it to take notes. The wooden mailboxes will help my students stay organized in class!

My Students

My students come into the classroom already excited to learn because as soon as they arrive, they are quick to put their things away and go straight to their morning work. Afterward, our class continues throughout the day learning new and exciting things like the alphabets and counting numbers.

My students are a bunch of eager kindergartners who are excited to learn.

Although they may be young, they are old enough to learn new things and apply what they learned through independent practice times. My school is just the right place for students to come in to learn and socialize with other students. I wake up every morning excited to come to work because I not only get to see my kids and teach, but I get to interact with all my wonderful coworkers. We are a faculty and staff that work together and collaboratively grow as educators through the different resources and time that we share together in and out of school. I strongly feel that my school creates a very warm and engaging environment for our students to learn their best.

My Project

My kindergartners learn the best when we collaboratively discuss and share our ideas. With that being said, most of our learning occurs on the carpet where each student has a designated spot to sit on. Oftentimes, the students are given worksheets/post-its to write their ideas to share and since we are sitting on the carpet-meeting area, it is very difficult for students to focus on writing their ideas because they do not have much of a hard surface area except their desks to write on. Therefore, we used paper folders but after much use, these folders have become very weak and are ripping. Therefore, the kids will really benefit from being able to use clipboards as their hard surface to write on during instruction time. In addition, my students bring home a lot of their classwork to show what they have been learning to their parents. In doing so, it creates a lot of paperwork by the end of the day. Therefore, I feel that having a mailbox will help the class organize their things.

The donations will make a great impact on my classroom and the students' learning.

The clipboards will help my students have the space and resource to do their writing during the instruction time without having to be distracted by not having a hard surface to write on. The mailboxes will definitely help my students to organize their paperwork so that they are ready to take home and "show off" to their parents. I believe that both these items will help my students grow this year!
