Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

P.S. 6 in the Bronx is the "lighthouse" of the neighborhood creating bright futures for children in a low income society. My students are eager and excited to start to read and count but need help with having the right materials. Through generous donations each year, my class is able to grow through fun and interactive hands on materials. Many of the students live in temporary housing and have many emotional and economic stresses on their family. School provides them with a sense of stability and an escape from many obstacles they have already faced at an early age. Please help enrich the minds and hearts of these young kids.

My Project

Learning centers are an excellent replacement to workbooks and mass produced worksheets. Kindergartners need fun and engaging materials that help them learn basic foundational skills. The materials in this project are to help students learn sight words, three letter words, counting, and simple addition and subtraction.

Learning centers are an essential part of the classroom as they are fun games and hands-on activities that students love.

The resources I am requesting will be used as centers for students to engage in learning phonics, sight words and numbers. Your donation would go towards quality books and hands on games for learning. These specific items I have requested for the class are to build necessary foundations of learning letters, sounds, words and numbers.
