My Students

A day in a kindergarten classroom is filled with the buzzing of learning with enthusiasm. Some of my biggest challenges are tailoring instruction for individual needs and getting the kids to work independently. These chromebooks will while so I can pull small groups for differentiated instruction.

The students in my room come to me happy and excited to be at school.

They love to learn and want to please. Many of the students come from broken homes where money is tight. Most of them have very little skills when they enter school. Our school is a cozy little home away from home. We have a very little budget to afford many extras that would help give our kids the extra edge they need to be successful. We have a wonderful staff and administration that strive to make our kids college ready with 21 century skills to succeed in the world.

My Project

These read along books will provide my students with examples of fluent reading and get them excited about read in class and to themselves. Everyone loves to be transported into a story and when you are just learning to read it’s a struggle just to get the words decided and read. Comprehension and that love of reading come as they become stronger readers. Read along books help kids to hear what reading should sound like and also helps them develop a love of reading at an early age. These read aloud books will be perfect to make into a center and allow me to help small groups of children develop their reading skills.
