Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten in a public school located in New York City.

I have 25 curious, motivated students who are eager and excited about learning.

Their enthusiasm about the world around them is inspiring. They make teaching enjoyable and fulfilling! Kindergarteners learn best through play and exploration and I feel STEM will provide this opportunity.

They also thrive in an organized environment which fosters independence.

However, with budget cuts, it is difficult to provide my little ones with all the resources that are needed. Having seat sacks will encourage independence and confidence in my kindergartners. My students need seat sacks to help them access materials easily and to stay organized. Also, having access to STEM materials will better prepare my students for the future!

My Project

My kindergartners are a diverse group who thrive on being independent and curious. They are always asking questions, and are quick to share their evolving concepts of the world around them.

Seat sacks will assist my students with keeping their learning materials organized and at the same time assist with fostering independence.

Having seat sacks will help my students access materials easily.

STEM is incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math into learning. STEM is a hands-on, fun approach to learning. This is where my students can learn through exploration, while at the the same time work independently or in small groups to continue to develop and answer questions about the world around them, while reinforcing their learning skills.
