I teach the 15 most dedicated students in all of the United States! My kindergarten class in our high need community is unbelievably invested in working to make sure their brains grow bigger this year...to become fantastic first graders!

Our class is in dire need of science materials to fuel these growing brains! With no science curriculum, no projector or computer center stations, and no materials for science experiments, we have a very limited scope of what we can do within the science block of our day. These students are energetic and excited to learn more about animals, plants, human anatomy, physical science, astronomy, weather, and geography, but we have next to no resources to engage them in active and interesting science lessons.

I am requesting several different science experiment kits and materials to fit within the science standards for our district and to satisfy hungry minds in our classroom. The requested items range from a space bingo game, animal tracking activity, human anatomy vests, to classroom thermometers and weather predicting activities. Science is difficult for young minds to understand without interactive models and activities for them to experience and work with. The requested items would serve to ensure my students' excitement to learn science could be satisfied with beneficial learning activities, as well as increase their knowledge of the world around them.

I am compelled to take this excitement for learning more about science and fuel it into something even bigger...we are already talking about what colleges everyone will attend when they graduate high school! This proposal will directly influence and improve science instruction in our classroom, and encourage students to work even harder to meet our learning goals!
