Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at a Title 1 school. I will be teaching 25 students in the Bronx. All of the children receive free breakfast and lunch. Most come to school not knowing how to read or know their letters. The supplies would help the children drastically. The magnetic letters will be used to foster reading. They will be used for letter recognition/sight words. Please help with this project. The children will really appreciate it. The seat organizers will be used to store their math books as well as their independent reading books. These children just need someone who cares!
My Project
This project will be used for 25 kindergarten children in the Bronx. Using the magnetic letters will help the children to read. These children will work independently with the letters as well as group work. The children will verbally be identifying the letters. They will also be using the letters to play a game called find the word in the room. They will also be creating sight words or snap words as well as simple sentences. I believe that if I am given these materials for the classroom all the children that I teach will benefit greatly from these resources. The chair storage bags will be used for holding the children's books and supplies.
