My Students

Do you remember what kindergarten was like? This year I will be moving from teaching 4th grade students to teaching kindergarten. My students need to have the opportunity to explore their world through curriculum-rich games.

The students I teach come from very low income families.

Most of the students don't have the opportunity to attend preschool. The students often come from families where education might not be top priority. These students need all the hands-on opportunities that I can possibly provide to them. This is difficult since all of my materials are 4th grade materials. Teachers in NC don't get paid through the summer, therefore I don't have the funds to purchase all the needed materials for my students.

My Project

The materials I am asking for are all hands-on activities. I am trying to incorporate as many games into my classroom as possible. I feel it will help these students who haven't had a preschool experience learn to socialize with each other while learning during the process. I also feel that by using the classroom calender, I will be able to reinforce math concepts daily. The calender set allows the students to easily interact with it every day.

This project is a vital part for starting off a new year.

The games and materials will not only impact my students this year, but for many years to come. I hope you will consider donating to my project. I am looking forward to the start of a great new adventure!
