My Project

My students are in kindergarten and are loving, fun, and curious. They are eager to learn in all subject areas and love the hands-on lessons that I plan. This year, my students need supplies that support our learning of our new reading curriculum with Amplify. I'm requesting a variety of items that connect specifically with our units of study in reading like a poster of the U.S. presidents, hand-held American flags, and globe stress balls for learning about our Earth. Every day in my class, we choose who the "lucky duck" will be. That student gets to be the leader of the day. The pillow I am requesting is for our rocking chair that the "lucky duck" gets to sit on. COVID-19 has impacted my kindergarten students because it led to learning challenges and limited social interactions that are critical for a young learner's development. The supplies I am requesting (like the lamination pouches) will allow me to create meaningful hands-on experiences that help with their social interactions with their peers, and help them to be engaged—and because the activities are laminated, I'll be able to use them from year to year. The supplies will cater to the diverse learning styles in my classroom. The manipulatives and arts and crafts supplies will also play a crucial role in supporting kindergarten students' holistic growth and ensuring they receive the education and support they need to thrive despite the pandemic's disruptions.
