Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing! They enjoy learning and having fun. They enjoy when I have new things for them that will help them learn. Sometimes they come to school with a special request, "Ms. V, can you buy this book?" We are a small school and with that comes a small budget where there are no funds for resources. They do not have the same resources that other more affluent schools and families have. My students also live a low socio-economic area where parents have to work long hours to make ends meet. Some of my students are here from 7:30 a.m - 6:00 p.m because parents work. Yet my students overcome this and enjoy coming to school.

The Guided Phonics + Beyond® Decodable Books will help my students by engaging them in reading while practicing phonics skills.

I will be able to work with small groups to really focus on each student.

Not only will they be learning the phonics skills whole and small group, but then they can practice reading on their own at their desks.
