My Project

As we travel through the process of NAEYC accreditation for our kindergarten classes in our school, we are seeing firsthand how learning through play does wonders for our children. Without that pressure to do worksheet after worksheet, and with more opportunity for hands-on learning and self-discovery, the classroom can be a happier and less stressful place. My project will add sensory activities to calm and clear the mind, and the other items will expose my students to literature, figurines, etc. from cultures and life experiences different than theirs. With multicultural figures and a new dollhouse, they can act out life events with friends in a way where everyone from different backgrounds and family situations all feel included.
