Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These multi-sensory items will help support our young readers with sight word practice. Research has shown that student acquire word knowledge through multi-sensory activities as well as orthographic mapping. Using sand, paint, elkonin boxes, tiles, playdoh, letter beads, swatters, sticks, balls, the cow bell and books are all different forms to help students practice word acquisition and apply it in encoding and decoding. Privacy boards will be using during sight word assessments.

Our goals for this project are that students will have different experiences when learning to read.

They will practice reading and building their words in a variety of ways.

Our students are special they come from demographic backgrounds and all come together as a cohesive unit. We our that our students come from different neighborhoods and different experiences outside of school.
