Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a low socioeconomic community. 90% of my students have never received any education prior to entering my classroom, and half of them speak English as a second language. They are all so eager to learn and they show their enthusiasm when trying to grasp new concepts.

By donating to our project, you will assist my students in becoming confident and successful readers and writers.

You will place literacy activities into my students' hands that will aid them in working independently to learn the alphabet, read books, and become lifelong writers. With the alphabet matching puzzles and snap and learn alligators and llamas, students will begin to recognize the uppercase and lowercase letters. Also by my students practicing 3 letter words using the 3 letter word puzzle cards and the short vowel rods, this will lead them to the next level of reading and writing simple words.

Kindergarten lays the foundation for students to become writers. With the alphabet stampers, and alphabet letter sensory toys, my students will begin to strengthen their small fingers and build up their fine motor skills. They will then begin to write successfully using their lined white boards and composition notebooks. With your help, my students will complete Kindergarten feeling accomplished and ready to take on the rest of their educational journey.
