Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are typical five and six year old boys and girls that come to school eager to learn. However, most of these students are English Language Learners (ELL) and others are in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with special learning challenges. English language acquisition is imperative in helping my students succeed.

I teach in a Miami Title I school where 75% of students are Haitian Creole and 25% are Hispanic.

Therefore, these students face extreme language barriers due to English not being their first language.

My Project

Kindergarten students have a hard time expressing themselves and even more so for English language learners. My students will use the tablets during center time to help them increase their vocabulary skills.

Developing a strong vocabulary will be an important focus for my ELL (English Language Learners) students.

ELL students need plenty of audio and picture support to help them acquire English language skills and the educational and engaging platform of the Kids Fire Tablet will definitely grab my students attention as they work to increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills with the hundreds of interactive readers and educational apps.
