My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I public school in New York City. My school is wonderfully diverse with children from different countries and backgrounds. My students enter kindergarten curious, inquisitive and excited about learning.

This has been a difficult year for students bouncing between remote learning and in person learning.

When the students are in the classroom they must remain socially distant. For anyone who has ever taught primary grades, we know how difficult this can be.

My Project

Remote learning has been tough on students, families, staff, everyone involved. We have been bouncing between in person learning and remote learning. While in person, the kindergarteners are expected to maintain social distance, which if you have ever worked in a primary grade, is next to impossible. The students are mostly in their desks all day with small brain breaks to dance and move their body. Please help me fill my classroom with independent and exciting activities to keep kindergarten fun! My goal is to create an environment where the students want to explore and build!
