Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

They light up when I introduce new math games. " If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." Ignacio Estrada. Not all children learn the same way. I want a variety of materials and activities to help all my students reach their potential.

Our school is a very large elementary school.

There are over 1400 students. My class of 25 kindergarten students are culturally diverse and many have limited resources. Most of my students, speak a second language at home. My students enjoy playing math games and working in small groups.

My Project

The materials for this project will create a math center in our classroom. The materials will be stored in bins and placed on shelves that are accessible to the students. The students will be able to pick a game or activity from the center. They can then work independently or with a partner on strengthening a math skill.

The donations for this project will improve my classroom by creating a math center for my students.

This center will enable my students to learn new math skills, strengthen their math skills and work independently.
