My Students

Kindergarten has grown far beyond nap time, recess, and macaroni art projects. While our rigorous standards require more and more of students, I want to keep learning as hands-on and playful for these five-year-olds as I can..

The Kindergarten students in my classroom attend a Title I school in Virginia.

They began this year at various levels, and I need many different materials so I may continue to challenge all of them. My students love hands-on materials and working together.

My Project

The students will use dominoes, sequencing puzzles, and play dough to strengthen number sense. Wooden blocks can be used to explore patterns, data collection, and shapes. We will make our own number lines using pony beads. These resources will help students develop math skills kinesthetically, while having fun.

This is my second year teaching Kindergarten.

Donations to my classroom will be used this year and hopefully for many, many years to come. Please help my students start their school lives off with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge, and a love of math.
